ECCLESIASTES 1 8 All things ARE full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. 11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that ARE to come with those that shall come after. 13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that ARE done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. 14 I have seen all the works that ARE done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. ECCLESIASTES 2 14 The wise man's eyes ARE in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. 23 For all his days ARE sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity. ECCLESIASTES 3 18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves ARE beasts. 20 All go unto one place; all ARE of the dust, and all turn to dust again. ECCLESIASTES 4 1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that ARE done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. 2 Wherefore I praised the dead which ARE already dead more than the living which ARE yet alive. 9 Two ARE better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. ECCLESIASTES 5 7 For in the multitude of dreams and many words there ARE also divers vanities: but fear thou God. 11 When goods increase, they ARE increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? ECCLESIASTES 7 19 Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which ARE in the city. 21 Also take no heed unto all words that ARE spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: ECCLESIASTES 8 8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that ARE given to it. 13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which ARE as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. ECCLESIASTES 9 1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, ARE in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. 3 This is an evil among all things that ARE done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. 12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that ARE taken in an evil net, and as the birds that ARE caught in the snare; so ARE the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. 16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words ARE not heard. 17 The words of wise men ARE heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. ECCLESIASTES 10 12 The words of a wise man's mouth ARE gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. ECCLESIASTES 11 10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth ARE vanity. ECCLESIASTES 12 3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they ARE few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, 11 The words of the wise ARE as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which ARE given from one shepherd. SONG OF SOLOMON 1 10 Thy cheeks ARE comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold. 17 The beams of our house ARE cedar, and our rafters of fir. SONG OF SOLOMON 3 7 Behold his bed, which is Solomon's; threescore valiant men ARE about it, of the valiant of Israel. SONG OF SOLOMON 4 2 Thy teeth ARE like a flock of sheep that ARE even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them. 3 Thy lips ARE like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples ARE like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks. 5 Thy two breasts ARE like two young roes that ARE twins, which feed among the lilies. 11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk ARE under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon. 13 Thy plants ARE an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, SONG OF SOLOMON 5 11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks ARE bushy, and black as a raven. 12 His eyes ARE as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. 13 His cheeks ARE as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. 14 His hands ARE as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. 15 His legs ARE as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. SONG OF SOLOMON 6 6 Thy teeth ARE as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one beareth twins, and there is not one barren among them. 7 As a piece of a pomegranate ARE thy temples within thy locks. 8 There ARE threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. SONG OF SOLOMON 7 1 How beautiful ARE thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter! the joints of thy thighs ARE like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. 3 Thy two breasts ARE like two young roes that ARE twins. 9 And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that ARE asleep to speak. 13 The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates ARE all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved. SONG OF SOLOMON 8 6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof ARE coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. ISAIAH 1 4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that ARE corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they ARE gone away backward. 7 Your country is desolate, your cities ARE burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. 14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they ARE a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. 15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands ARE full of blood. 23 Thy princes ARE rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. --MORE-- |
