1 KINGS 11 7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of AMMON. 33 Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of AMMON, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father. 2 KINGS 23 13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of AMMON, did the king defile. 2 KINGS 24 2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of AMMON, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets. 1 CHRONICLES 18 11 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of AMMON, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. 1 CHRONICLES 19 1 Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of AMMON died, and his son reigned in his stead. 2 And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of AMMON to Hanun, to comfort him. 3 But the princes of the children of AMMON said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land? 6 And when the children of AMMON saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of AMMON sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah. 7 So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of AMMON gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle. 9 And the children of AMMON came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field. 11 And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of AMMON. 12 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of AMMON be too strong for thee, then I will help thee. 15 And when the children of AMMON saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem. 19 And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of AMMON any more. 1 CHRONICLES 20 1 And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of AMMON, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it. 3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of AMMON. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. 2 CHRONICLES 20 1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of AMMON, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 10 And now, behold, the children of AMMON and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of AMMON, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of AMMON and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 2 CHRONICLES 27 5 He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of AMMON gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of AMMON pay unto him, both the second year, and the third. DANIEL 11 7 But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the FORTRESS of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail: 10 But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his FORTRESS. 41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of AMMON. AMOS 1 13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of AMMON, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border: AMOS 5 9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the FORTRESS. MICAH 7 12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the FORTRESS even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. ZEPHANIAH 2 8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of AMMON, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border. 9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of AMMON as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. --END-- |
