JOSHUA 1 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the GREAT river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the GREAT sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. JOSHUA 6 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a GREAT shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. 20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a GREAT shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. JOSHUA 7 9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy GREAT name? 26 And they raised over him a GREAT heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day. JOSHUA 8 5 And I, and all the people that are with me, will approach unto the city: and it shall come to pass, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will FLEE before them, 6 (For they will come out after us) till we have drawn them from the city; for they will say, They FLEE before us, as at the first: therefore we will FLEE before them. 20 And when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to FLEE this way or that way: and the people that fled to the wilderness turned back upon the pursuers. 29 And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a GREAT heap of stones, that remaineth unto this day. JOSHUA 9 1 And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the GREAT sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof; JOSHUA 10 2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a GREAT city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty. 10 And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a GREAT slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. 11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down GREAT stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. 18 And Joshua said, Roll GREAT stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them: 20 And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very GREAT slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities. 27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid GREAT stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day. JOSHUA 11 8 And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto GREAT Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining. JOSHUA 14 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were GREAT and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. 15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a GREAT man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war. JOSHUA 15 12 And the west border was to the GREAT sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families. 47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the GREAT sea, and the border thereof: JOSHUA 17 14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a GREAT people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto? 15 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a GREAT people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee. 17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a GREAT people, and hast GREAT power: thou shalt not have one lot only: JOSHUA 19 28 And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto GREAT Zidon; JOSHUA 20 3 That the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may FLEE thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. 4 And when he that doth FLEE unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. 9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might FLEE thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. JOSHUA 22 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by Jordan, a GREAT altar to see to. JOSHUA 23 4 Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the GREAT sea westward. 9 For the LORD hath driven out from before you GREAT nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. JOSHUA 24 17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those GREAT signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a GREAT stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. JUDGES 1 6 But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his GREAT toes. 7 And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their GREAT toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died. JUDGES 2 7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the GREAT works of the LORD, that he did for Israel. JUDGES 5 15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were GREAT thoughts of heart. 16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were GREAT searchings of heart. JUDGES 6 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 11 33 And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very GREAT slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. JUDGES 12 2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at GREAT strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. JUDGES 15 8 And he smote them hip and thigh with a GREAT slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam. 18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this GREAT deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? JUDGES 16 5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his GREAT strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver. 6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy GREAT strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. 15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy GREAT strength lieth. 23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a GREAT sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand. --MORE-- |
