DEUTERONOMY 31 7 And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their FATHERS to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. 16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy FATHERS; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their FATHERS, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant. DEUTERONOMY 32 17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your FATHERS feared not. JOSHUA 1 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their FATHERS to give them. JOSHUA 4 6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their FATHERS in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? 21 And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their FATHERS in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? JOSHUA 5 6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their FATHERS that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey. JOSHUA 14 1 And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the FATHERS of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them. JOSHUA 18 3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your FATHERS hath given you? JOSHUA 19 51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the FATHERS of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country. JOSHUA 21 1 Then came near the heads of the FATHERS of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the FATHERS of the tribes of the children of Israel; 43 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their FATHERS; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. 44 And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their FATHERS: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. JOSHUA 22 14 And with him ten princes, of each chief house a prince throughout all the tribes of Israel; and each one was an head of the house of their FATHERS among the thousands of Israel. 28 Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our FATHERS made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you. JOSHUA 24 2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your FATHERS dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods. 6 And I brought your FATHERS out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your FATHERS with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea. 14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your FATHERS served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your FATHERS served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. 17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our FATHERS out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: JUDGES 2 1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your FATHERS; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their FATHERS: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their FATHERS, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. 17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their FATHERS walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. 19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their FATHERS, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. 20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their FATHERS, and have not hearkened unto my voice; 22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their FATHERS did keep it, or not. JUDGES 3 4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their FATHERS by the hand of Moses. JUDGES 6 13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our FATHERS told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. JUDGES 21 22 And it shall be, when their FATHERS or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty. 1 SAMUEL 12 6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your FATHERS up out of the land of Egypt. 7 Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your FATHERS. 8 When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your FATHERS cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your FATHERS out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place. 15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your FATHERS. 1 SAMUEL 22 20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named ABIATHAR, escaped, and fled after David. 21 And ABIATHAR shewed David that Saul had slain the LORD's priests. 22 And David said unto ABIATHAR, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father's house. 1 SAMUEL 23 6 And it came to pass, when ABIATHAR the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand. 9 And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to ABIATHAR the priest, Bring hither the ephod. 1 SAMUEL 30 7 And David said to ABIATHAR the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And ABIATHAR brought thither the ephod to David. 2 SAMUEL 7 12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy FATHERS, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 2 SAMUEL 8 17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of ABIATHAR, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe; 2 SAMUEL 15 24 And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and ABIATHAR went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city. 27 The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of ABIATHAR. 29 Zadok therefore and ABIATHAR carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 35 And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and ABIATHAR the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and ABIATHAR the priests. 36 Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan ABIATHAR's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. --MORE-- |
