JUDGES 2 1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your FATHERS; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their FATHERS: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their FATHERS, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. 17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their FATHERS walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. 19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their FATHERS, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. 20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their FATHERS, and have not hearkened unto my voice; 22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their FATHERS did keep it, or not. JUDGES 3 4 And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their FATHERS by the hand of Moses. JUDGES 6 13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our FATHERS told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. 37 Behold, I will put a FLEECE of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the FLEECE only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the FLEECE together, and wringed the dew out of the FLEECE, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the FLEECE; let it now be dry only upon the FLEECE, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the FLEECE only, and there was dew on all the ground. therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and ABIATHAR the priests. 36 Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan ABIATHAR's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. 2 SAMUEL 17 15 Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to ABIATHAR the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled. 2 SAMUEL 19 11 And king David sent to Zadok and to ABIATHAR the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house. 2 SAMUEL 20 25 And Sheva was scribe: and Zadok and ABIATHAR were the priests: 1 KINGS 1 7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with ABIATHAR the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him. 19 And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and ABIATHAR the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called. 21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his FATHERS, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders. 25 For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and ABIATHAR the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah. 42 And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of ABIATHAR the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings. 1 KINGS 2 10 So David slept with his FATHERS, and was buried in the city of David. 22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for ABIATHAR the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 26 And unto ABIATHAR the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. 27 So Solomon thrust out ABIATHAR from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh. 35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of ABIATHAR. 1 KINGS 4 4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and ABIATHAR were the priests: 1 KINGS 8 1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the FATHERS of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion. 21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our FATHERS, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. 34 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their FATHERS. 40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our FATHERS. 48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their FATHERS, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name: 53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our FATHERS out of Egypt, O LORD God. 57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our FATHERS: let him not leave us, nor forsake us: 58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our FATHERS. --MORE-- |
