2 CHRONICLES 28 10 And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins AGAINST the LORD your God? 12 Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up AGAINST them that came from the war, 13 And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended AGAINST the LORD already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath AGAINST Israel. 19 For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore AGAINST the LORD. 22 And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more AGAINST the LORD: this is that king Ahaz. 2 CHRONICLES 29 21 And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of AARON to offer them on the altar of the LORD. 2 CHRONICLES 30 7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed AGAINST the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see. 2 CHRONICLES 31 19 Also of the sons of AARON the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites. 2 CHRONICLES 32 1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped AGAINST the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself. 2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight AGAINST Jerusalem, 9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege AGAINST Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying, 16 And his servants spake yet more AGAINST the LORD God, and AGAINST his servant Hezekiah. 17 He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak AGAINST him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand. 19 And they spake AGAINST the God of Jerusalem, as AGAINST the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man. 2 CHRONICLES 33 24 And his servants conspired AGAINST him, and slew him in his own house. 25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired AGAINST king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead. 2 CHRONICLES 34 27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words AGAINST this place, and AGAINST the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD. 2 CHRONICLES 35 14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of AARON were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of AARON. 20 After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight AGAINST Charchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out AGAINST him. 21 But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not AGAINST thee this day, but AGAINST the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not. 2 CHRONICLES 36 6 AGAINST him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon. 13 And he also rebelled AGAINST king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel. 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose AGAINST his people, till there was no remedy. EZRA 4 5 And hired counsellors AGAINST them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia. 6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they unto him an accusation AGAINST the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem. 8 Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter AGAINST Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this sort: 19 And I commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection AGAINST kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made therein. EZRA 7 5 The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of AARON the chief priest: 23 Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath AGAINST the realm of the king and his sons? EZRA 8 22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us AGAINST the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is AGAINST all them that forsake him. EZRA 10 2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed AGAINST our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. NEHEMIAH 1 6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned AGAINST thee: both I and my father's house have sinned. 7 We have dealt very corruptly AGAINST thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses. NEHEMIAH 2 19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel AGAINST the king? NEHEMIAH 3 10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over AGAINST his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah. 16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over AGAINST the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty. 19 And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over AGAINST the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall. 23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over AGAINST their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house. 25 Palal the son of Uzai, over AGAINST the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king's high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh. 26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over AGAINST the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out. 27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over AGAINST the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel. 28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over AGAINST his house. 29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over AGAINST his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate. 30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over AGAINST his chamber. 31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith's son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over AGAINST the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner. NEHEMIAH 4 8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight AGAINST Jerusalem, and to hinder it. 9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch AGAINST them day and night, because of them. NEHEMIAH 5 1 And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives AGAINST their brethren the Jews. 7 Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly AGAINST them. NEHEMIAH 6 12 And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy AGAINST me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. --MORE-- |
