MICAH 2 3 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, AGAINST this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil. 4 In that day shall one take up a parable AGAINST you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. MICAH 3 5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war AGAINST him. MICAH 4 3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword AGAINST nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 11 Now also many nations are gathered AGAINST thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion. MICAH 5 1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege AGAINST us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. 5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise AGAINST him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. MICAH 6 3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify AGAINST me. 4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, AARON, and Miriam. MICAH 7 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up AGAINST her mother, the daughter in law AGAINST her mother in law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. 8 Rejoice not AGAINST me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. 9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned AGAINST him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. NAHUM 1 9 What do ye imagine AGAINST the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. 11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil AGAINST the LORD, a wicked counsellor. NAHUM 2 4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one AGAINST another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings. 13 Behold, I am AGAINST thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard. NAHUM 3 5 Behold, I am AGAINST thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. HABAKKUK 2 6 Shall not all these take up a parable AGAINST him, and a taunting proverb AGAINST him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay! 10 Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned AGAINST thy soul. HABAKKUK 3 8 Was the LORD displeased AGAINST the rivers? was thine anger AGAINST the rivers? was thy wrath AGAINST the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation? ZEPHANIAH 1 16 A day of the trumpet and alarm AGAINST the fenced cities, and AGAINST the high towers. 17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned AGAINST the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. ZEPHANIAH 2 5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is AGAINST you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. 8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves AGAINST their border. 10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves AGAINST the people of the LORD of hosts. 13 And he will stretch out his hand AGAINST the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness. ZEPHANIAH 3 11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed AGAINST me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain. ZECHARIAH 1 12 Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, AGAINST which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? ZECHARIAH 7 10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil AGAINST his brother in your heart. ZECHARIAH 8 10 For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one AGAINST his neighbour. 17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts AGAINST his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD. ZECHARIAH 9 13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, AGAINST thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. ZECHARIAH 10 3 Mine anger was kindled AGAINST the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle. ZECHARIAH 12 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both AGAINST Judah and AGAINST Jerusalem. 3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together AGAINST it. 7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves AGAINST Judah. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come AGAINST Jerusalem. ZECHARIAH 13 7 Awake, O sword, AGAINST my shepherd, and AGAINST the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. ZECHARIAH 14 2 For I will gather all nations AGAINST Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight AGAINST those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought AGAINST Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. 13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up AGAINST the hand of his neighbour. 16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came AGAINST Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. MALACHI 1 4 Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people AGAINST whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. 8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or ACCEPT thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. 10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I ACCEPT an offering at your hand. 13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I ACCEPT this of your hand? saith the LORD. MALACHI 2 10 Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man AGAINST his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? 14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, AGAINST whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. 15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously AGAINST the wife of his youth. --MORE-- |
