EZRA 10 3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such AS are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. 5 Then AROSE Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware. 12 Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, AS thou hast said, so must we do. NEHEMIAH 1 1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, AS I was in Shushan the palace, NEHEMIAH 2 12 And I AROSE in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. 16 And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I AS yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. 18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; AS also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. NEHEMIAH 5 5 Yet now our flesh is AS the flesh of our brethren, our children AS their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards. 12 Then said they, We will restore them, and will require nothing of them; so will we do AS thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise. NEHEMIAH 6 8 Then I sent unto him, saying, There are no such things done AS thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thine own heart. 11 And I said, Should such a man AS I flee? and who is there, that, being AS I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in. NEHEMIAH 7 64 These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, AS polluted, put from the priesthood. NEHEMIAH 8 1 And all the people gathered themselves together AS one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. 15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, AS it is written. NEHEMIAH 9 10 And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, AS it is this day. 11 And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, AS a stone into the mighty waters. 23 Their children also multipliedst thou AS the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it. 24 So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them AS they would. NEHEMIAH 10 34 And we cast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the LORD our God, AS it is written in the law: 36 Also the firstborn of our sons, and of our cattle, AS it is written in the law, and the firstlings of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, unto the priests that minister in the house of our God: NEHEMIAH 13 15 In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; AS also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals. ESTHER 2 9 And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things AS belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women. 20 Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; AS Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like AS when she was brought up with him. ESTHER 3 11 And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them AS it seemeth good to thee. ESTHER 4 14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time AS this? ESTHER 5 5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do AS Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. 8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow AS the king hath said. 13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long AS I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. ESTHER 6 10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, AS thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. ESTHER 7 8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? AS the word went out of king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. ESTHER 8 4 Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther AROSE, and stood before the king, 8 Write ye also for the Jews, AS it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse. ESTHER 9 2 The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such AS sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. 22 AS the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor. 23 And the Jews undertook to do AS they had begun, and AS Mordecai had written unto them; 27 The Jews ordained, and took upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all such AS joined themselves unto them, so AS it should not fail, that they would keep these two days according to their writing, and according to their appointed time every year; 31 To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according AS Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and AS they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry. JOB 1 20 Then Job AROSE, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, JOB 2 10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest AS one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. JOB 3 6 AS for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months. 16 Or AS an hidden untimely birth I had not been; AS infants which never saw light. JOB 4 8 Even AS I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. JOB 5 7 Yet man is born unto trouble, AS the sparks fly upward. 14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday AS in the night. 25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring AS the grass of the earth. 26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like AS a shock of corn cometh in in his season. JOB 6 7 The things that my soul refused to touch are AS my sorrowful meat. 15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully AS a brook, and AS the stream of brooks they pass away; 26 Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, which are AS wind? JOB 7 2 AS a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and AS an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: 9 AS the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. 20 I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me AS a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself? --MORE-- |
