JEREMIAH 20 1 Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who WAS also chief governor in the house of the LORD, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things. 2 Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which WAS by the house of the LORD. 7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me, and I WAS deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me. 8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the LORD WAS made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily. 9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word WAS in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I WAS weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. 14 Cursed be the day wherein I WAS born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed. JEREMIAH 22 15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it WAS well with him? 16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it WAS well with him: WAS not this to know me? saith the LORD. JEREMIAH 25 1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that WAS the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; JEREMIAH 26 20 And there WAS also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah. 21 And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he WAS AFRAID, and fled, and went into Egypt; 24 Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan WAS with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death. JEREMIAH 28 1 And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which WAS of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying, JEREMIAH 30 10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him AFRAID. JEREMIAH 31 11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that WAS stronger than he. 15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice WAS heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. 18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I WAS chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God. 19 Surely after that I WAS turned, I repented; and after that I WAS instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I WAS ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth. 26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep WAS sweet unto me. 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I WAS an husband unto them, saith the LORD: JEREMIAH 32 1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which WAS the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar. 2 For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet WAS shut up in the court of the prison, which WAS in the king of Judah's house. 8 So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this WAS the word of the LORD. 9 And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that WAS in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. 11 So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which WAS sealed according to the law and custom, and that which WAS open: JEREMIAH 33 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he WAS yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying, --MORE-- |
