JOEL 2 22 Be not AFRAID, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. AMOS 1 1 The words of Amos, who WAS among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake. AMOS 2 9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height WAS like the height of the cedars, and he WAS strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. AMOS 3 6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be AFRAID? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? AMOS 4 7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece WAS rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. AMOS 7 1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it WAS the latter growth after the king's mowings. 14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I WAS no prophet, neither WAS I a prophet's son; but I WAS an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit: JONAH 1 4 But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there WAS a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship WAS like to be broken. 5 Then the mariners were AFRAID, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah WAS gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and WAS fast asleep. 10 Then were the men exceedingly AFRAID, and said unto him. Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them. 11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and WAS tempestuous. 13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and WAS tempestuous against them. 17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah WAS in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. JONAH 2 6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars WAS about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. JONAH 3 3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh WAS an exceeding great city of three days' journey. JONAH 4 1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he WAS very angry. 2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, WAS not this my saying, when I WAS yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. 6 And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah WAS exceeding glad of the gourd. MICAH 4 4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them AFRAID: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. 7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that WAS cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. MICAH 7 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be AFRAID of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee. NAHUM 2 11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them AFRAID? NAHUM 3 8 Art thou better than populous No, that WAS situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart WAS the sea, and her wall WAS from the sea? 9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it WAS infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers. 10 Yet WAS she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains. HABAKKUK 2 17 For the violence of Lebanon shall cover thee, and the spoil of beasts, which made them AFRAID, because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein. HABAKKUK 3 2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and WAS AFRAID: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. 3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth WAS full of his praise. 4 And his brightness WAS as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there WAS the hiding of his power. 8 WAS the LORD displeased against the rivers? WAS thine anger against the rivers? WAS thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation? 9 Thy bow WAS made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah. Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers. 14 Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing WAS as to devour the poor secretly. ZEPHANIAH 3 13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them AFRAID. 18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it WAS a burden. 19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that WAS driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. HAGGAI 2 15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone WAS laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD: 18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD's temple WAS laid, consider it. ZECHARIAH 1 15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I WAS but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. ZECHARIAH 3 3 Now Joshua WAS clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. ZECHARIAH 5 7 And, behold, there WAS lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah. 9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind WAS in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. ZECHARIAH 7 7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem WAS inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain? 14 But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land WAS desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate. ZECHARIAH 8 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I WAS jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I WAS jealous for her with great fury. 9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts WAS laid, that the temple might be built. 10 For before these days there WAS no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither WAS there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour. ZECHARIAH 10 2 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there WAS no shepherd. 3 Mine anger WAS kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle. ZECHARIAH 11 11 And it WAS broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it WAS the word of the LORD. 13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I WAS prised at of them.
