ACTS 27 1 And when it WAS determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band. 8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto WAS the city of Lasea. 9 Now when much time WAS spent, and when sailing WAS now dangerous, because the fast WAS now already past, Paul admonished them, 12 And because the haven WAS not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west. 15 And when the ship WAS caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. 20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved WAS then taken away. 25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it WAS told me. 27 But when the fourteenth night WAS come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country; 33 And while the day WAS coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. 39 And when it WAS day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship. 41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part WAS broken with the violence of the waves. 42 And the soldiers' counsel WAS to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape. ACTS 28 1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island WAS called Melita. 6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he WAS a god. 7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name WAS Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. 9 So when this WAS done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: 11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign WAS Castor and Pollux. 16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul WAS suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet WAS I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. 18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there WAS no cause of death in me. 19 But when the Jews spake against it, I WAS constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of. ROMANS 1 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which WAS made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but WAS let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart WAS darkened. 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which WAS meet. ROMANS 4 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it WAS counted unto him for righteousness. 9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith WAS reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How WAS it then reckoned? when he WAS in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, WAS not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which WAS spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he WAS about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but WAS strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he WAS able also to perform. 22 And therefore it WAS imputed to him for righteousness. 23 Now it WAS not written for his sake alone, that it WAS imputed to him; 25 Who WAS delivered for our offences, and WAS raised again for our justification. ROMANS 5 13 (For until the law sin WAS in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that WAS to come. 16 And not as it WAS by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment WAS by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. ROMANS 6 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ WAS raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which WAS delivered you. ROMANS 7 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin WAS dead. 9 For I WAS alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which WAS ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 13 WAS then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. ROMANS 8 3 For what the law could not do, in that it WAS weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 20 For the creature WAS made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, ROMANS 9 12 It WAS said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which WAS not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it WAS said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. --MORE-- |
