EXODUS 1 5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph WAS in Egypt already. 7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land WAS filled with them. 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, WAS with rigour. 15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one WAS Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: EXODUS 2 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he WAS a goodly child, she hid him three months. 11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses WAS grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. 12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there WAS no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. 21 And Moses WAS content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. EXODUS 3 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush WAS not consumed. 6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he WAS AFRAID to look upon God. EXODUS 4 6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand WAS leprous as snow. 7 And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it WAS turned again as his other flesh. 14 And the anger of the LORD WAS kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. EXODUS 5 13 And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there WAS straw. 19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it WAS said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task. EXODUS 6 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH WAS I not known to them. EXODUS 7 7 And Moses WAS fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh. 15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which WAS turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand. 21 And the fish that WAS in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there WAS blood throughout all the land of Egypt. 22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart WAS hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said. EXODUS 8 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there WAS respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. 19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart WAS hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. 24 And the LORD did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants' houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land WAS corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies. EXODUS 9 7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there WAS not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh WAS hardened, and he did not let the people go. 11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil WAS upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians. 24 So there WAS hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there WAS none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that WAS in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. 26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, WAS there no hail. 31 And the flax and the barley WAS smitten: for the barley WAS in the ear, and the flax WAS bolled. 33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain WAS not poured upon the earth. 35 And the heart of Pharaoh WAS hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses. EXODUS 10 13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it WAS morning, the east wind brought the locusts. 15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land WAS darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt. 22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there WAS a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: EXODUS 11 3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses WAS very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people. 6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there WAS none like it, nor shall be like it any more. EXODUS 12 29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that WAS in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. 30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there WAS a great cry in Egypt; for there WAS not a house where there WAS not one dead. 34 And the people took their dough before it WAS leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. 39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it WAS not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual. 40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, WAS four hundred and thirty years. EXODUS 13 17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that WAS near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: EXODUS 14 5 And it WAS told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants WAS turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? 10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore AFRAID: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. 20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it WAS a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. EXODUS 15 14 The people shall hear, and be AFRAID: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. 23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it WAS called Marah. EXODUS 16 14 And when the dew that lay WAS gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it WAS. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses WAS wroth with them. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither WAS there any worm therein. 31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it WAS like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it WAS like wafers made with honey. --MORE-- |
