JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and AFRAID, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the SWORD of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host. 18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The SWORD of the LORD, and of Gideon. 20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The SWORD of the LORD, and of Gideon. 22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's SWORD against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. JUDGES 8 10 Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew SWORD. 20 And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his SWORD: for he feared, because he was yet a youth. JUDGES 9 54 Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy SWORD, and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died. JUDGES 18 27 And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the SWORD, and burnt the city with fire. JUDGES 20 2 And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew SWORD. 15 And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew SWORD, beside the inhabitants of Gibeah, which were numbered seven hundred chosen men. 17 And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew SWORD: all these were men of war. 25 And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the SWORD. 35 And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the SWORD. 37 And the liers in wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers in wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the SWORD. 46 So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the SWORD; all these were men of valour. 48 And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the SWORD, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to. JUDGES 21 10 And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead with the edge of the SWORD, with the women and the children. RUTH 3 8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was AFRAID, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet. 1 SAMUEL 4 7 And the Philistines were AFRAID, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. 1 SAMUEL 7 7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were AFRAID of the Philistines. 1 SAMUEL 13 22 So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither SWORD nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found. 1 SAMUEL 14 20 And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man's SWORD was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture. 1 SAMUEL 15 8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the SWORD. 33 And Samuel said, As the SWORD hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. 1 SAMUEL 17 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly AFRAID. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore AFRAID. 39 And David girded his SWORD upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a SWORD, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with SWORD and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no SWORD in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his SWORD, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. 1 SAMUEL 18 4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his SWORD, and to his bow, and to his girdle. 12 And Saul was AFRAID of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul. 15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was AFRAID of him. 29 And Saul was yet the more AFRAID of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually. 1 SAMUEL 21 1 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was AFRAID at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 8 And David said unto Ahimelech, And is there not here under thine hand spear or SWORD? for I have neither brought my SWORD nor my weapons with me, because the king's business required haste. 9 And the priest said, The SWORD of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me. 12 And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore AFRAID of Achish the king of Gath. 1 SAMUEL 22 10 And he enquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the SWORD of Goliath the Philistine. 13 And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a SWORD, and hast enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day? 19 And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the SWORD, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the SWORD. 1 SAMUEL 23 3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be AFRAID here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? 1 SAMUEL 25 13 And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his SWORD. And they girded on every man his SWORD; and David also girded on his SWORD: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff. 1 SAMUEL 28 5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was AFRAID, and his heart greatly trembled. 13 And the king said unto her, Be not AFRAID: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. 20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore AFRAID, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night. 1 SAMUEL 31 4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy SWORD, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore AFRAID. Therefore Saul took a SWORD, and fell upon it. 5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise upon his SWORD, and died with him. --MORE-- |
