MATTHEW 1 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: FOR that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: FOR he shall save his people from their sins. MATTHEW 3 2 And saying, Repent ye: FOR the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 FOR this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet FOR repentance: 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: FOR I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: FOR thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. MATTHEW 5 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: FOR theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: FOR they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: FOR they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: FOR they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: FOR they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: FOR they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: FOR they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted FOR righteousness' sake: FOR theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, FOR my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: FOR great is your reward in heaven: FOR so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good FOR nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 18 FOR verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 20 FOR I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: FOR it is profitable FOR thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: FOR it is profitable FOR thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving FOR the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. 34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; FOR it is God's throne: 35 Nor by the earth; FOR it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; FOR it is the city of the great King. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: FOR whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye FOR an eye, and a tooth FOR a tooth: 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray FOR them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: FOR he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 FOR if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? MATTHEW 6 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: FOR they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: FOR they think that they shall be heard FOR their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: FOR your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: FOR thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, FOR ever. Amen. 14 FOR if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: FOR they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 19 Lay not up FOR yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up FOR yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 FOR where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 24 No man can serve two masters: FOR either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought FOR your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet FOR your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: FOR they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 28 And why take ye thought FOR raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 32 (FOR after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) FOR your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 34 Take therefore no thought FOR the morrow: FOR the morrow shall take thought FOR the things of itself.
