So Samuel rose up, and WENT to Ramah. 1 SAMUEL 17 4 And there WENT out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield WENT before him. 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly AFRAID. 12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man WENT among men for an old man in the days of Saul. 13 And the three eldest sons of Jesse WENT and followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that WENT to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and next unto him Abinadab, and the third Shammah. 15 But David WENT and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem. 20 And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and WENT, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore AFRAID. 35 And I WENT out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield WENT before him. 1 SAMUEL 18 5 And David WENT out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants. 12 And Saul was AFRAID of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul. 13 Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he WENT out and came in before the people. 15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was AFRAID of him. 16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he WENT out and came in before them. 27 Wherefore David arose and WENT, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife. 29 And Saul was yet the more AFRAID of David; and Saul became David's enemy continually. 30 Then the princes of the Philistines WENT forth: and it came to pass, after they WENT forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by. --MORE-- |
