ECCLESIASTES 7 14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of ADVERSITY consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. ISAIAH 29 22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed ABRAHAM, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. ISAIAH 30 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of ADVERSITY, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: ISAIAH 41 8 But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of ABRAHAM my friend. ISAIAH 51 2 Look unto ABRAHAM your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him. ISAIAH 63 16 Doubtless thou art our father, though ABRAHAM be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. JEREMIAH 26 24 Nevertheless the hand of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death. JEREMIAH 33 26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of ABRAHAM, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them. JEREMIAH 39 14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people. JEREMIAH 40 5 Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go. 6 Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land. 7 Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon; 9 And Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you. 11 Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan; 14 And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM believed them not. 16 But Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael. JEREMIAH 41 1 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah. 2 Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. 6 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and it came to pass, as he met them, he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM. 10 Then Ishmael carried away captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM: and Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the Ammonites. 16 Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM, even mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon: 18 Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land. JEREMIAH 43 6 Even men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of AHIKAM the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah. EZEKIEL 33 24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, ABRAHAM was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance. MICAH 6 4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, AARON, and Miriam. MICAH 7 20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to ABRAHAM, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. MATTHEW 1 1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of ABRAHAM. 2 ABRAHAM begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; 17 So all the generations from ABRAHAM to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. MATTHEW 3 9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have ABRAHAM to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto ABRAHAM. MATTHEW 8 11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with ABRAHAM, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. MATTHEW 22 32 I am the God of ABRAHAM, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. MARK 12 26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of ABRAHAM, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? MARK 14 36 And he said, ABBA, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. LUKE 1 5 THERE was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of AARON, and her name was Elisabeth. 55 As he spake to our fathers, to ABRAHAM, and to his seed for ever. 73 The oath which he sware to our father ABRAHAM, LUKE 3 8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have ABRAHAM to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto ABRAHAM. 34 Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of ABRAHAM, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor, LUKE 13 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of ABRAHAM, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see ABRAHAM, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. LUKE 16 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into ABRAHAM's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth ABRAHAM afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father ABRAHAM, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But ABRAHAM said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 29 ABRAHAM saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father ABRAHAM: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. LUKE 19 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of ABRAHAM. LUKE 20 37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of ABRAHAM, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. JOHN 8 33 They answered him, We be ABRAHAM's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 37 I know that ye are ABRAHAM's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. 39 They answered and said unto him, ABRAHAM is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were ABRAHAM's children, ye would do the works of ABRAHAM. 40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not ABRAHAM. 52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. ABRAHAM is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father ABRAHAM, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 56 Your father ABRAHAM rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen ABRAHAM? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before ABRAHAM was, I am. --MORE-- |
