JOSHUA 1 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not AFRAID, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. JOSHUA 4 9 And Joshua SET up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day. JOSHUA 6 26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he SET up the gates of it. JOSHUA 8 8 And it shall be, when ye have taken the city, that ye shall SET the city on fire: according to the commandment of the LORD shall ye do. See, I have commanded you. 12 And he took about five thousand men, and SET them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. 13 And when they had SET the people, even all the host that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley. 19 And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand: and they entered into the city, and took it, and hasted and SET the city on fire. JOSHUA 9 24 And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore AFRAID of our lives because of you, and have done this thing. JOSHUA 10 18 And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and SET men by it for to keep them: JOSHUA 11 6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not AFRAID because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire. JOSHUA 18 1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and SET up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. JOSHUA 24 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and SET them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and SET it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. JUDGES 1 8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and SET the city on fire. JUDGES 6 18 Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and SET it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou come again. JUDGES 7 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and AFRAID, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou SET by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. 19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly SET the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. 22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD SET every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. JUDGES 9 25 And the men of Shechem SET liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech. 33 And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and SET upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion. 49 And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the hold, and SET the hold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women. JUDGES 15 5 And when he had SET the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives. JUDGES 16 25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they SET him between the pillars. JUDGES 18 30 And the children of Dan SET up the graven image: and Jonathan, the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land. 31 And they SET them up Micah's graven image, which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh. JUDGES 20 22 And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and SET their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day. 29 And Israel SET liers in wait round about Gibeah. 36 So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted unto the liers in wait which they had SET beside Gibeah. 48 And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they SET on fire all the cities that they came to. RUTH 2 5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was SET over the reapers, Whose damsel is this? 6 And the servant that was SET over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab: RUTH 3 8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was AFRAID, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet. 1 SAMUEL 2 8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to SET them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath SET the world upon them. 1 SAMUEL 4 7 And the Philistines were AFRAID, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore. 1 SAMUEL 5 2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and SET it by Dagon. 3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and SET him in his place again. 1 SAMUEL 6 18 And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they SET down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite. 1 SAMUEL 7 7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were AFRAID of the Philistines. 12 Then Samuel took a stone, and SET it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. 1 SAMUEL 8 12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will SET them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 1 SAMUEL 9 20 And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, SET not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house? 23 And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, SET it by thee. 24 And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and SET it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! SET it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day. 1 SAMUEL 10 19 And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but SET a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands. 1 SAMUEL 12 13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath SET a king over you. 1 SAMUEL 13 8 And he tarried seven days, according to the SET time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. 1 SAMUEL 15 11 It repenteth me that I have SET up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he SET him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal. 1 SAMUEL 17 2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and SET the battle in array against the Philistines. 8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to SET your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly AFRAID. 24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore AFRAID. --MORE-- |
