ZEPHANIAH 3 4 Her PROPHETS are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. ZECHARIAH 1 4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former PROPHETS have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD. 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the PROPHETS, do they live for ever? 6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the PROPHETS, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us. ZECHARIAH 7 3 And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the PROPHETS, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years? 7 Should ye not hear the words which the LORD hath cried by the former PROPHETS, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain? 12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former PROPHETS: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. ZECHARIAH 8 9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the PROPHETS, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. ZECHARIAH 13 2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the PROPHETS and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land. 4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the PROPHETS shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive: MALACHI 2 16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth PUTTING away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. MATTHEW 2 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the PROPHETS, He shall be called a Nazarene. MATTHEW 4 12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into PRISON, he departed into Galilee; MATTHEW 5 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the PROPHETS which were before you. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into PRISON. MATTHEW 7 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the PROPHETS. 15 Beware of false PROPHETS, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. MATTHEW 11 2 Now when John had heard in the PRISON the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, 13 For all the PROPHETS and the law prophesied until John. MATTHEW 13 17 For verily I say unto you, That many PROPHETS and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. MATTHEW 14 3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in PRISON for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife. 10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the PRISON. MATTHEW 16 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the PROPHETS. MATTHEW 18 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into PRISON, till he should pay the debt. MATTHEW 22 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the PROPHETS. MATTHEW 23 29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the PROPHETS, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, 30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the PROPHETS. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the PROPHETS. 34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you PROPHETS, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the PROPHETS, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! MATTHEW 24 11 And many false PROPHETS shall rise, and shall deceive many. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false PROPHETS, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. MATTHEW 25 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in PRISON, and ye came unto me. 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in PRISON, and came unto thee? 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in PRISON, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in PRISON, and did not minister unto thee? MATTHEW 26 56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the PROPHETS might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. MARK 1 2 As it is written in the PROPHETS, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 14 Now after that John was put in PRISON, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, MARK 6 15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the PROPHETS. 17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in PRISON for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her. 27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the PRISON, MARK 8 28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the PROPHETS. MARK 13 22 For false Christs and false PROPHETS shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. LUKE 1 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy PROPHETS, which have been since the world began: LUKE 3 20 Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in PRISON. LUKE 6 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the PROPHETS. 26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false PROPHETS. LUKE 9 8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old PROPHETS was risen again. 19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old PROPHETS is risen again. --MORE-- |
