ROMANS 7 1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the LAW,) how that the LAW hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the LAW to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the LAW of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that LAW; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the LAW by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the LAW, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we are delivered from the LAW, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. 7 What shall we say then? Is the LAW sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the LAW: for I had not known lust, except the LAW had said, Thou shalt not covet. 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the LAW sin was dead. 9 For I was alive without the LAW once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 12 Wherefore the LAW is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 14 For we know that the LAW is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the LAW that it is good. 21 I find then a LAW, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the LAW of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another LAW in my members, warring against the LAW of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the LAW of sin which is in my members. 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the LAW of God; but with the flesh the LAW of sin. ROMANS 8 2 For the LAW of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the LAW of sin and death. 3 For what the LAW could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the LAW might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the LAW of God, neither indeed can be. ROMANS 9 4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the LAW, and the service of God, and the promises; 31 But Israel, which followed after the LAW of righteousness, hath not attained to the LAW of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the LAW. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; ROMANS 10 4 For Christ is the end of the LAW for righteousness to every one that believeth. 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the LAW, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. ROMANS 13 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be AFRAID of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be AFRAID; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the LAW. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the LAW. 1 CORINTHIANS 6 1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to LAW before the unjust, and not before the saints? 6 But brother goeth to LAW with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to LAW one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 1 CORINTHIANS 7 39 The wife is bound by the LAW as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 1 CORINTHIANS 9 8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the LAW the same also? 9 For it is written in the LAW of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the LAW, as under the LAW, that I might gain them that are under the LAW; 21 To them that are without LAW, as without LAW, (being not without LAW to God, but under the LAW to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without LAW. 1 CORINTHIANS 14 21 In the LAW it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the LORD. 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the LAW. 1 CORINTHIANS 15 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the LAW. GALATIANS 2 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the LAW, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the LAW: for by the works of the LAW shall no flesh be justified. 19 For I through the LAW am dead to the LAW, that I might live unto God. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the LAW, then Christ is dead in vain. GALATIANS 3 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the LAW, or by the hearing of faith? 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the LAW, or by the hearing of faith? 10 For as many as are of the works of the LAW are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the LAW to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the LAW in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the LAW is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the LAW, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the LAW, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the LAW, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then serveth the LAW? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 21 Is the LAW then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a LAW given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the LAW. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the LAW, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the LAW was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. --MORE-- |
