And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. 19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the LAW, that he rent his clothes. 2 CHRONICLES 35 26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the LAW of the LORD, EZRA 3 2 Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the LAW of Moses the man of God. EZRA 7 6 This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the LAW of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him. 10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the LAW of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. 12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the LAW of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time. 14 Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the LAW of thy God which is in thine hand; 21 And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the LAW of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily, 26 And whosoever will not do the LAW of thy God, and the LAW of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment. EZRA 10 3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the LAW. NEHEMIAH 2 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore AFRAID, NEHEMIAH 4 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye AFRAID of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. NEHEMIAH 6 9 For they all made us AFRAID, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. 13 Therefore was he hired, that I should be AFRAID, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me. 18 For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in LAW of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah. NEHEMIAH 8 1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the LAW of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel. 2 And Ezra the priest brought the LAW before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month. 3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the LAW. 7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the LAW: and the people stood in their place. 8 So they read in the book in the LAW of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. 9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the LAW. 13 And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the LAW. 14 And they found written in the LAW which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month: 18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the LAW of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner. --MORE-- |
