1 SAMUEL 21 1 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the PRIEST: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 2 And David said unto Ahimelech the PRIEST, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. 4 And the PRIEST answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. 5 And David answered the PRIEST, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. 6 So the PRIEST gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. 9 And the PRIEST said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And they came before the king. 34 And let Zadok the PRIEST and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon. 38 So Zadok the PRIEST, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon. 39 And Zadok the PRIEST took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon. 42 And while he yet spake, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the PRIEST came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good tidings. 44 And the king hath sent with him Zadok the PRIEST, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule: 45 And Zadok the PRIEST and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that ye have heard. 1 KINGS 2 22 And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the PRIEST, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah. 26 And unto Abiathar the PRIEST said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted. 27 So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being PRIEST unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh. 35 And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the PRIEST did the king put in the room of Abiathar. 1 KINGS 4 2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the PRIEST, 1 KINGS 18 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And the PRIEST appointed officers over the house of the LORD. 2 KINGS 12 2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the PRIEST instructed him. 7 Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the PRIEST, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house. 9 But Jehoiada the PRIEST took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD. 10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high PRIEST came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD. 2 KINGS 16 10 And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the PRIEST the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof. 11 And Urijah the PRIEST built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the PRIEST made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus. 15 And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the PRIEST, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by. 16 Thus did Urijah the PRIEST, according to all that king Ahaz commanded. 2 KINGS 17 4 And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in PRISON. 2 KINGS 22 4 Go up to Hilkiah the high PRIEST, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people: 8 And Hilkiah the high PRIEST said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 10 And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the PRIEST hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the PRIEST, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying, 14 So Hilkiah the PRIEST, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her. 2 KINGS 23 4 And the king commanded Hilkiah the high PRIEST, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel. 24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the PRIEST found in the house of the LORD. --MORE-- |
