14 And answered them after the ADVICE of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions. 2 CHRONICLES 15 8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the ALTAR of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD. 2 CHRONICLES 23 10 And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the ALTAR and the temple, by the king round about. 2 CHRONICLES 25 17 Then Amaziah king of Judah took ADVICE, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face. 19 Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: ABIDE now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee? 2 CHRONICLES 26 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the ALTAR of incense. 19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense ALTAR. 2 CHRONICLES 29 18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the ALTAR of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof. 19 Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his transgression, have we prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are before the ALTAR of the LORD. 21 And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven he goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the ALTAR of the LORD. 22 So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the ALTAR: likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the ALTAR: they killed also the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the ALTAR. 24 And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the ALTAR, to make an atonement for all Israel: for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel. 27 And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering upon the ALTAR. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel. --MORE-- |
