JOSHUA 9 27 And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the ALTAR of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose. JOSHUA 18 5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall ABIDE in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall ABIDE in their coasts on the north. JOSHUA 22 10 And when they came unto the borders of Jordan, that are in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an ALTAR by Jordan, a great ALTAR to see to. 11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an ALTAR over against the land of Canaan, in the borders of Jordan, at the passage of the children of Israel. 16 Thus saith the whole congregation of the LORD, What trespass is this that ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the LORD, in that ye have builded you an ALTAR, that ye might rebel this day against the LORD? 19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession be unclean, then pass ye over unto the land of the possession of the LORD, wherein the LORD's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession among us: but rebel not against the LORD, nor rebel against us, in building you an ALTAR beside the ALTAR of the LORD our God. 23 That we have built us an ALTAR to turn from following the LORD, or if to offer thereon burnt offering or meat offering, or if to offer peace offerings thereon, let the LORD himself require it; 26 Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an ALTAR, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice: 28 Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the ALTAR of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you. 29 God forbid that we should rebel against the LORD, and turn this day from following the LORD, to build an ALTAR for burnt offerings, for meat offerings, or for sacrifices, beside the ALTAR of the LORD our God that is before his tabernacle. 34 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the ALTAR Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God. JUDGES 6 24 Then Gideon built an ALTAR there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. 25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the ALTAR of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: 26 And build an ALTAR unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. 28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the ALTAR of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the ALTAR that was built. 30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the ALTAR of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. 31 And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his ALTAR. 32 Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his ALTAR. JUDGES 13 20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the ALTAR, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the ALTAR. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. JUDGES 19 30 And it was so, that all that saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt unto this day: consider of it, take ADVICE, and speak your minds. JUDGES 20 7 Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your ADVICE and counsel. JUDGES 21 4 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an ALTAR, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. RUTH 2 8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but ABIDE here fast by my maidens: 1 SAMUEL 1 22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there ABIDE for ever. 1 SAMUEL 2 28 And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine ALTAR, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel? 33 And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine ALTAR, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age. 1 SAMUEL 5 7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not ABIDE with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god. 1 SAMUEL 7 17 And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an ALTAR unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 14 35 And Saul built an ALTAR unto the LORD: the same was the first ALTAR that he built unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 17 44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the AIR, and to the beasts of the field. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the AIR, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 1 SAMUEL 19 2 But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and ABIDE in a secret place, and hide thyself: 1 SAMUEL 22 5 And the prophet Gad said unto David, ABIDE not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth. 23 ABIDE thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard. 1 SAMUEL 25 33 And blessed be thy ADVICE, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand. 1 SAMUEL 30 21 And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to ABIDE at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them. 2 SAMUEL 11 11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, ABIDE in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing. 2 SAMUEL 15 19 Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and ABIDE with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile. 2 SAMUEL 16 18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I ABIDE. 2 SAMUEL 19 32 Now Barzillai was a very AGED man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man. 43 And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our ADVICE should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel. 2 SAMUEL 21 10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the AIR to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night. 2 SAMUEL 23 8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was ADINO the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time. 2 SAMUEL 24 18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an ALTAR unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. 21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an ALTAR unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. 25 And David built there an ALTAR unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. 1 KINGS 1 50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword. 53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the ALTAR. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house. 1 KINGS 2 28 Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 29 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the ALTAR. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him. --MORE-- |
