1 SAMUEL 5 7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not ABIDE with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god. 1 SAMUEL 7 17 And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an ALTAR unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 14 35 And Saul built an ALTAR unto the LORD: the same was the first ALTAR that he built unto the LORD. 1 SAMUEL 17 44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the AIR, and to the beasts of the field. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the AIR, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 1 SAMUEL 19 2 But Jonathan Saul's son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and ABIDE in a secret place, and hide thyself: 1 SAMUEL 22 5 And the prophet Gad said unto David, ABIDE not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth. 23 ABIDE thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard. 1 SAMUEL 25 33 And blessed be thy ADVICE, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand. 1 SAMUEL 30 21 And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to ABIDE at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that were with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them. 2 SAMUEL 11 11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, ABIDE in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing. 2 SAMUEL 15 19 Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and ABIDE with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile. 2 SAMUEL 16 18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel, choose, his will I be, and with him will I ABIDE. 2 SAMUEL 19 32 Now Barzillai was a very AGED man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man. 43 And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our ADVICE should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel. 2 SAMUEL 21 10 And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the AIR to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night. 2 SAMUEL 23 8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was ADINO the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time. 2 SAMUEL 24 18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an ALTAR unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. 21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an ALTAR unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. 25 And David built there an ALTAR unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel. 1 KINGS 1 50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah feareth king Solomon: for, lo, he hath caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword. 53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the ALTAR. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house. 1 KINGS 2 28 Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the ALTAR. 29 And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the ALTAR. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him. 1 KINGS 3 4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that ALTAR. 1 KINGS 6 20 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the ALTAR which was of cedar. 22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole ALTAR that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. 1 KINGS 7 48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained unto the house of the LORD: the ALTAR of gold, and the table of gold, whereupon the shewbread was, 1 KINGS 8 13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to ABIDE in for ever. 22 And Solomon stood before the ALTAR of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: 31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine ALTAR in this house: 54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the ALTAR of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen ALTAR that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. 1 KINGS 9 25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the ALTAR which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the ALTAR that was before the LORD. So he finished the house. 1 KINGS 12 32 And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the ALTAR. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made. 33 So he offered upon the ALTAR which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the ALTAR, and burnt incense. 1 KINGS 13 1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the ALTAR to burn incense. 2 And he cried against the ALTAR in the word of the LORD, and said, O ALTAR, ALTAR, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. 3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the ALTAR shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out. 4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the ALTAR in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the ALTAR, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him. 5 The ALTAR also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the ALTAR, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD. 32 For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the ALTAR in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass. 1 KINGS 14 11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the AIR eat: for the LORD hath spoken it. 1 KINGS 16 4 Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the AIR eat. 32 And he reared up an ALTAR for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 1 KINGS 18 26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the ALTAR which was made. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the ALTAR of the LORD that was broken down. 32 And with the stones he built an ALTAR in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the ALTAR, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 35 And the water ran round about the ALTAR; and he filled the trench also with water. --MORE-- |
