HOSEA 1 2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed GREAT whoredom, departing from the LORD. 11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for GREAT shall be the day of Jezreel. HOSEA 8 12 I have written to him the GREAT things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing. HOSEA 9 7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the GREAT hatred. 10 I found Israel like GRAPES in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved. HOSEA 10 15 So shall Bethel do unto you because of your GREAT wickedness: in a morning shall the king of Israel utterly be cut off. HOSEA 13 5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of GREAT drought. JOEL 1 6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a GREAT lion. JOEL 2 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a GREAT people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very GREAT: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is GREAT and very terrible; and who can abide it? 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of GREAT kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done GREAT things. 21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do GREAT things. 25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my GREAT army which I sent among you. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the GREAT and terrible day of the LORD come. JOEL 3 13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is GREAT. AMOS 2 16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall FLEE away naked in that day, saith the LORD. AMOS 3 9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the GREAT tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof. 15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the GREAT houses shall have an end, saith the LORD. AMOS 5 19 As if a man did FLEE from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. AMOS 6 2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the GREAT: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border? 11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the GREAT house with breaches, and the little house with clefts. AMOS 7 4 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the GREAT deep, and did eat up a part. 12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, FLEE thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: AMOS 8 5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel GREAT, and falsifying the balances by deceit? AMOS 9 1 I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not FLEE away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered. 13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of GRAPES him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. OBADIAH 1 5 If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some GRAPES? JONAH 1 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that GREAT city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to FLEE unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. 4 But the LORD sent out a GREAT wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. 12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this GREAT tempest is upon you. 17 Now the LORD had prepared a GREAT fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. JONAH 3 2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that GREAT city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. 3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding GREAT city of three days' journey. JONAH 4 2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of GREAT kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. 11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that GREAT city, wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? MICAH 2 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make GREAT noise by reason of the multitude of men. MICAH 5 4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be GREAT unto the ends of the earth. MICAH 7 3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the GREAT man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. NAHUM 1 3 The LORD is slow to anger, and GREAT in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. NAHUM 2 8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall FLEE away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. NAHUM 3 3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a GREAT number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: 7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall FLEE from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee? 10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her GREAT men were bound in chains. 17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the GREAT grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they FLEE away, and their place is not known where they are. HABAKKUK 3 15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of GREAT waters. ZEPHANIAH 1 10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a GREAT crashing from the hills. 14 The GREAT day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. ZECHARIAH 1 14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a GREAT jealousy. --MORE-- |
