JONAH 1 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that GREAT city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to FLEE unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. 4 But the LORD sent out a GREAT wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. 12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this GREAT tempest is upon you. 17 Now the LORD had prepared a GREAT fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. JONAH 3 2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that GREAT city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. 3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding GREAT city of three days' journey. JONAH 4 2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of GREAT kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. 11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that GREAT city, wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? MICAH 2 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make GREAT noise by reason of the multitude of men. MICAH 5 4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be GREAT unto the ends of the earth. MICAH 7 3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the GREAT man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up. NAHUM 1 3 The LORD is slow to anger, and GREAT in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. NAHUM 2 8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall FLEE away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. NAHUM 3 3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a GREAT number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses: 7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall FLEE from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee? 10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her GREAT men were bound in chains. 17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the GREAT grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they FLEE away, and their place is not known where they are. HABAKKUK 3 15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of GREAT waters. ZEPHANIAH 1 10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a GREAT crashing from the hills. 14 The GREAT day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. ZECHARIAH 1 14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a GREAT jealousy. ZECHARIAH 2 6 Ho, ho, come forth, and FLEE from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. ZECHARIAH 4 7 Who art thou, O GREAT mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. ZECHARIAH 7 12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a GREAT wrath from the LORD of hosts. ZECHARIAH 8 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with GREAT jealousy, and I was jealous for her with GREAT fury. ZECHARIAH 9 17 For how GREAT is his goodness, and how GREAT is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids. ZECHARIAH 12 11 In that day shall there be a GREAT mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. ZECHARIAH 14 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very GREAT valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall FLEE to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall FLEE, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. 13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a GREAT tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour. 14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in GREAT abundance. MALACHI 1 11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be GREAT among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be GREAT among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. 14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a GREAT King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. MALACHI 4 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the GREAT and dreadful day of the LORD: MATTHEW 2 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding GREAT joy. 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and FLEE into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and GREAT mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. MATTHEW 3 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to FLEE from the wrath to come? MATTHEW 4 16 The people which sat in darkness saw GREAT light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. 25 And there followed him GREAT multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. MATTHEW 5 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for GREAT is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called GREAT in the kingdom of heaven. 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the GREAT King. MATTHEW 6 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how GREAT is that darkness! MATTHEW 7 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather GRAPES of thorns, or figs of thistles? 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and GREAT was the fall of it. MATTHEW 8 1 When he was come down from the mountain, GREAT multitudes followed him. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so GREAT faith, no, not in Israel. 18 Now when Jesus saw GREAT multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. 24 And, behold, there arose a GREAT tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a GREAT calm. --MORE-- |
