OBADIAH 1 1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle. JONAH 1 3 But Jonah rose up to FLEE unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. 5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his GOD, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. 6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy GOD, if so be that GOD will think upon us, that we perish not. 9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the GOD of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land. JONAH 2 1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his GOD out of the fish's belly, 6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my GOD. JONAH 3 5 So the people of Nineveh believed GOD, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto GOD: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who can tell if GOD will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And GOD saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and GOD repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. JONAH 4 2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious GOD, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil. 6 And the LORD GOD prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd. 7 But GOD prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered. 8 And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that GOD prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live. 9 And GOD said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. MICAH 1 2 Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the LORD from his holy temple. MICAH 3 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of GOD. MICAH 4 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the GOD of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his GOD, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our GOD for ever and ever. MICAH 6 6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high GOD? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy GOD? MICAH 7 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the GOD of my salvation: my GOD will hear me. 10 Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy GOD? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. 17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our GOD, and shall fear because of thee. 18 Who is a GOD like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. NAHUM 1 2 GOD is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. NAHUM 2 8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall FLEE away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. NAHUM 3 7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall FLEE from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee? 17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they FLEE away, and their place is not known where they are. HABAKKUK 1 11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his GOD. 12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my GOD, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty GOD, thou hast established them for correction. HABAKKUK 3 3 GOD came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the GOD of my salvation. 19 The LORD GOD is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. ZEPHANIAH 1 7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. ZEPHANIAH 2 7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their GOD shall visit them, and turn away their captivity. 9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the GOD of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them. ZEPHANIAH 3 2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her GOD. 17 The LORD thy GOD in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. HAGGAI 1 12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their GOD, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their GOD had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD. 14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their GOD, ZECHARIAH 2 6 Ho, ho, come forth, and FLEE from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. ZECHARIAH 6 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your GOD. ZECHARIAH 7 2 When they had sent unto the house of GOD Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD, ZECHARIAH 8 8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their GOD, in truth and in righteousness. 23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that GOD is with you. ZECHARIAH 9 7 And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our GOD, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite. 14 And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. 16 And the LORD their GOD shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. --MORE-- |
